|

Welcome to the CONTINUUM FAQ Questions Thread.
This topic acts as a sandbox.
Feel free to ask and answer any questions about CONTINUUM rules, or the CONTINUUM universe, that you believe belong in a FAQ.
The final FAQ is posted as a locked, moderated sticky, somewhere Up from this post, and can't be posted to. Hence, this thread.
Questions about conventions, meeting players, publisher queries, etc. should be posed outside this topic.
Naturally appropriate questions posed outside this thread can still get into the FAQ; this is just supposed to be central spot to get everyone's attention.
Cheers,
Chris Adams |

How about...
What products are currently available, and what others are due to be released? |

That, I think, would fall under "publisher queries."

Stormcrow is right, but this is a "sandbox".
In the absence of a catalog, or direct sales, we'll be posting our CONTINUUM products on every page of the CONTINUUM area.
This is less intrusive than it sounds. The main aetherco.com page is the template for the rest of the site (actually it originally began with HOB, and expanded to Yamara) --and the covers will be posted with links along the right.
I believe the little banner at Yamara boosted CONTINUUM sales. I can only imagine the hurdles fans must have gone through to find "Further Information" let alone the mention "SpanBook". Anyway, I'm paring down and consolidating a lot of pages, which will make things easier for fans and creeatorz alike.
As for the FAQ, I've already posted some of what we've already received.

Hullo, Chronies,
I guess I should say at this point that when I get my CONTINUUM rpg webpages back on-line towards the end of the week that I will have *massive* numbers of FAQ files up there with answers to all manner of questions. (DavidT, DavidF, and ChrisA may remember what the files were like to some extent.)
For the record, I always regretted taking down the CONTINUUM webpages, since I always felt that it was a valuable place and had some good information on it. On that subject, I would appreciate hearing from folks what theywould like to see on the set of pages as well. _________________ ....Nothing is a waste of time, if you use the experience wisely. Just a thought:
For any "What does X mean?" vocabulary questions, you can link to the glossary page. The glossary is its own sort of FAQ anyway...

Hullo, David,
Yes, I had thought of doing it that way, to be honest, since I actually am thinking about putting a glossary on-line on my set of pages as well. However, that said, the FAQ that address Frag, for example, should start wtih an answer to the question "What is Frag?" as the Stratagems FAQ should start with the question and answer to "What are the Stratagems?" and so forth.
We'll see, depending on how big the website gets. I just hope folks submit characters and scenario ideas and various other material along those lines to me for inclusion on the webpages... _________________ ....Nothing is a waste of time, if you use the experience wisely. (Rodin)

|
|
Here's one I've seen a lot on the mailing list.
Q. I fixed the As/As Not that caused my frag. So if my Age never really changed, why did I feel frag in the first place?
A. Frag isn't a symptom of changed history; it is a symptom of something urgent in your Yet that should be taken care of as soon as possible. When you fix a broken event that causes you frag, that doesn't change the need for you to have been there. Frag provides the motivation to make sure events happen as they should.
Maybe someone can word this better and more completely than this.
By the way, it would be nice if the online glossary had named anchors at each of the terms. That way, we could link directly to special Continuum terms in the FAQ. Linking As/As Not, frag, Yet, and Age in the question above, for example, directly to their definitions would be helpful.

A common complaint by the unitiated (unInvited?) is that Continuum is too complex to be playable. This is, of course, not true, but it might help to explain why it's not true. I just posted about one aspect of this here. A better-worded explanation could certainly be written, but I think it would make a useful addition to the FAQ.

| Is there an official errata for Continuum? I think I found some confusing language and errors in the combat example, but if I noticed them on my first read, I'm sure other people have too. |

It's mentioned a that "just getting used to how your house looks in four dimensions" is an adventure unto itself.
I think I missed that in the main book (w/o detailed tables of contents, and with a very basic index, it's kind of hard to navigate)...
...Anyway- this is an intriguing idea, and could you expand on it a little? |
